If you are a holder of any club equipment such as race numbers, signs, flags etc. could you please either return these items to the club garage or contact Matt Legge to let him know what you have so that an audit and record be made of what we have. This is to ensure that we have sufficient equipment in order to promote our events this year.

Over the past month Greg and I have been working hard on a new kit design. Based on a design done for us a few years ago by design my jersey. Feedback so far has been very positive, but there is one contentious issue yet to be resolved. Do we stick with the traditional Green White Red charlotteville colours, or go for the fashion of the moment with Black White and Red? There is still a little green on the black topped version but not a lot.

We need members to vote! Take a look at the two options below. Then log in to the website, once you have logged in a Poll is available on the homepage (right hand side) for you to vote. We need to place an order for sample kit next week so we will be collating the results in 7 days time!

Sitting on the turbo trainer or rollers in the garage getting too cold and lonely for you?

Are you interested a cycling club specific training session using a spinning studio in Camberley ? Much like you might use your turbo trainer - except this will be a club group session (local cycling clubs) so more sociable. Will possibly take place on Wednesday evenings 45 mins - 1 hour long - but open to suggestions. The sessions would be using the bikes to simulate hill climbs, pyramids using the variable resistance, to improve leg power with sprints and intervals to improve CV. Some sessions might also use heart rate monitors if you have (or perceived exertion if not).

Events organisation 2011 PDF Print E-mail

As you all know Charlotteville CC promote an awful lot of events each year and we are always questionning whether we should be doing this is we don't have enough people able to help out to really justify it. At the same time there may be people within the club who are interested in getting involved more in helping out or want to know more about what is involved in running some of our cycling events be it time trials, road races or our Guildford Cycle Challenge sportive (which is hoped will return in 2011).

If you would like to get involved in some way (however big or small) then now is the time make yourself known to the committee and we can then speak about how you'd like to be involved. This might just be to say you can help out at various events (most of which we know the dates already) or perhaps if you are interested in knowing more about how it all gets put together and being a Deputy organiser (or more?)

We are having to confirm which events we will run next year in the next month or so and therefore now is the time to let us know. Please get in touch with Matt Legge if you are interested or want to know more.

RTTC National 50 Championships - 18th & 19th June 2011 PDF Print E-mail

The London West District Council committee have today awarded the Mens and Womens National Championship 50's to the Charlotteville Cycling Club.  Support for both events has already been pledged by members of the Farnham Road Club & the Farnborough & Camberley CC, who were at the meeting in support of their own Tenders.

I believe this is a great opportunity for the club to celebrate the Centenary of the Open 50 in style and welcome any input that would make these events as successful as past Charlotteville promotions.
