Chris Hart Memorial 10 Mile Time Trial - 17th June 2012 PDF Print E-mail

On Sunday 17th June, the District Committee of London West CTT are promoting an event in memory of their former Secretary and long serving member, Chris Hart, who sadly passed away in March 2011. The contribution that Chris made to the District and the sport in general is almost immeasurable whether this related to District matters, course designing, supporting new promoters or being the omnipresent marshal who always seemed to be at so many events, year after year.

The event is being held on course H10/2b with Knowl Hill Village Hall as the HQ which is rather fitting as this is where the LWDC conduct their meetings. Although open to all, preference will be given to entrants from clubs affiliated to London West District.

In addition to medals for usual placings, a Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the fastest team of 3 on aggregate (LWDC Clubs only)

Due to the double Bank Holiday, the event will stay open for postal entries until Thursday 7th June. This event can also be entered via the Internet Entry system but this will close on Tuesday 5th June. Cheques (£10.00) should be made payable to Cycling Time Trials – London West.

Address for postal entries:

Mark Scanlan

100 Loyd Road

OX11 8JS

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Charity

As a member of both the Charlotteville Cycling Club and the London West District Committee I have already volunteered my services as a marshal for this event.  If you have not already planned an event for the 17th June then why not support this one and, at the same time, raise money for a good cause.

If not racing why not join me on the course?

Jim Pitt

At the end of March reigning Charlotteville road race champion Jon Lewis got the early season sun at the Tour of Malta.  With the Elite race being won by former 'Tour Pro' Stefan Schumacher (ahem no further comment there!) the Masters category was contested by 'Villain Lewis after some strong finishes and then winning the Stage 4 time trial he placed 3rd master overall. See the results section for the full results

Well Done Jon!
