A great day and a great result only made possible with a full team and that is what we had on Saturday, albeit names that are new to the "Marshalling" fold. Thank you all for your efforts, the many compliments offered after the event belong to you, and one such remark came from none other than Alex himself.
Personal Bests for Jon, Andrew, Tristan, Dave and Matthew, with Ed achieving a Seasons Best just 4 seconds short of his PB. (Next time Ed). With 6 riders under 1.01.00 it will be interesting to see how the rest of the season pans out. Matthew Butler, flying solo for the first time in an Open event, did a creditable ride which could have been better but for a loose seatpin. Al in all the future is looking good again for the club.
Assisting Ron Taylor (Farnborough & Camberley CC) at the Start were Derek Cottington & Dave Pitt. At Holybourne RAB were Ian & Gill Draper and Paul Batchelor. At Farnham RAB were Richard Wareham, Vivienne Allen (Richards partner) and Richard Newsam. At the finish assisting Jim Brown (Farnham Road Club) was Keith Downie supplying us with regular updates to the result board where ever present Roly Masset was ably recording the times. (Roly of course had just returned from a trip to France, the apparent excuse for the trip being to cut the grass at Les Bowermans' Chateau.) Supplying all with cakes and refreshments from the HQ were June Pitt & Jane Cottington. No Charlotteville event would be complete these days without our "Resident" photographer, Dave Carlsson, who was again to be found lying in a ditch to get the best angle.
