Alex Dowsett (Trek-LivestrongU23) smashed the course and event record in the Charlotteville CC Open 25 on 4rd July in a time of 47:50. Dowsett was pleased with his ride that is being used as a warm-up for the European U23 TT Champs in Turkey next month. "Atleast I'll have a qualifying time for next years National 25 too" he quipped, referring to his expulsion from the start list of this years National 25 after the CTT decided he couldn't enter due to a lack of qualifying time. The expected matchup against Michael Hutchinson failed to materialise after Hutch was a DNS due to work committments.
