Duo Normand 2016 PDF Print E-mail

Over the last few seasons we have finished off the seasons racing with a trip over to Marigny, Normandy France to compete in the Duo Normand which is a 55km two up time trial.

This year is no exception and once again we are looking for riders and people who would like to join us on this trip.

duo start

We normally set off Thursday night and catch the late evening ferry to Caen, making our return journey the afternoon of the Monday.  With the race on the last Sunday in September its an ideal way to socialise as well as attend a race.

The accommodation is at a French chateau that can sleep up to 40 people, we normally have around 20 go from the club but this year its looking a bit thin on the ground so if you have friends and racing colleagues in other clubs who would like to attend then feel free to invite them.  The chateau is a pleasant experience and typical French architecture of its time period, meals cooking and washing up are all jobs we look after as its self catered.  The open fore also means someone has to be on log duty to keep it stoked in between glasses of local wine.

duo car

Costs based on last year were £160 which included food, drink, accommodation.
Ferries and entering the duo not included.

Duo entry must be completed sooner rather than later as we wouldn't want people not to get a spot in the race.  We still have a few people un decided and people without partners so keep an eye on the club facebook page and events for the latest news.  If you feel you would like to come along and join us or if you have friends who would like to then please contact James curry by email.

After the great success of last years TdF BBQ we are planning another one this year. Same time (penultimate Sunday of the Tour) and same location (OGAC). Lets hope for the same weather and we'll get the coals warmed up, the racing on the big screen and the bar open. There will probably be a small charge/donation for anyone attending (to be confirmed) so that we can cover all the food requirements but we hope you all come along.
